I have searched the forum and found a lot of very useful information, just to be certain, is this a suitable item to buy i.e the correct grade oil:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYPE-2-7DIESEL-AUTOMATIC-TRANSMISSION-GEARBOX-SUMP-FLUID-C2C38963-7LTRS-/301596789251?hash=item463891ca03:g:DRkAAOSwiwVWSxOD

If suitable then I will get my local garage to do the work for me.

Any alternatives or recommendations gratefully received, thanks in advance.

That's not the fluid that I used Dave but a quick bit of research suggests it is perfectly adequate.

If your local non-franchised garage is doing the job please make sure that they have an accurate way of measuring the fluid temperature in the sump and they know the range.

Thanks Paul, I thought it was the right grade Oil, just wanted independent confirmation really. I can supply them with a calibrated laser thermometer if they need one.

Thanks again
