Hi fellow Jag lovers,

Well after only 50 years of admiring Jaguars, l have finally jumped in and got my own! A beautiful blue 2012 XF-S in dark blue and cream. What a car, had it for a month and I'm still finding new things to love. When I was 20 I worked for a British Leyland dealer in Croydon and had a 1977 pink 4.2 XJ as a runaround and have loved the marque ever since. Cheers. Chris

Welcome to the club, Chris.

I fell in love with Jaguars in 1964 when a friend was restoring a Mk1.  Sadly, empty pockets and 30 years of company cars saw me not getting my first Jaguar till 5 years ago.

Great cars and a dream to drive.

Regards,

Peter.

Great car there Chris , i would have one myself but as my x type only does about a thousand miles a year as a second car i can't justify the expense . I'm a taxi driver who needs a wheelchair accessible vehicle but a nice diesel xf would be on the cards if i ever lose my contract runs . As for the pink xj , that must have stood out from the crowd lol

Hi Andy,

Thanks, Yes the XF is a lovely car and by far the best and most expensive car I have owned. It has taken much saving to get there, and is a reward to myself for (nearly) surviving sixty years of bringing up a family, who can now (again, nearly) fend for themselves.

The X type is a great car and really brings back the styling cues of the original XJ but is a lot more affordable to run. That pink XJ did turn some heads, it was a factory colour quite subtle and not so barbie! Felt great driving it, but I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the petrol, mpg in the teens! Makes my XFs average 40 seem very reasonable.

Cheers,

chris
