miles per gallon

I have just  bout a xf premium 3ltr twin turbo s 2010 I was told it would do 40 m to the gallon on a run and 30m ruoond town 

Does any body know what they are suposed to do my car has only done 12, 000miles from new.

Hi Richard and welcome to the club.

That mpg you have been told seems quite reasonable,although it is possible you could get better on a long run.

I use Shell V Power in my s type, which has the 2.7 litre V6 twin turbo diesel and couple of weeks ago got 49.2 mpg driving down to Lyme Regis, with 42 mpg for the round trip including some driving found the lanes in Dorset.

Hi I get 30 plus around town I say town I live in Wales so it's short trips to work 9miles and odd 20 mile runs with a few steep hills on a motoway run low 40ts I use super market diesel with no problems odd redx once a month hope this helps

Hi Richard,

My 2012 XF-S 28k gets about 36mpg mixed town/A road driving and a recent 600 mile round trip to Devon saw 44mpg.

So pretty much spot on the average!

I have an XJ Supersport 2010 and get average 25mpg thats all rounder driving and not afraid to unleash the Beast - I am in West London near Heathrow
