I only have the single CD player in the centre console, bit of a pain.  How easy is it to fit a multi-changer in the boot?  Is the wiring loom in there somewhere and if so is just plug'n'play?

Hi

The wiring should be all ready there

there hit and miss, some work straight away and some need setting up with SDD software

you might need a different d2b optical lead, but there usually is a spare d2d lead, with a link lead in

cheers

If you do need a different d2b cable, I can probably assist Gary. Also happy to set it up using SDD if it is needed and you're in this vicinity.

I swapped out a CDC as I had a missing cartridge and it was very simple, but this was a straight swap and already had the leads and bolts in place...

Sorry for the late reply folks, work gets in the way sometimes.  Off for a week now though.

Well had a good look underneath the parcel shelf for a loom of some sort but nothing.  Am I looking in the right place?

Hi

hard to say from that picture

look more towards the rear, more towards the rear light

the connectors are tapped up some times with a foam tape, to stop them rattling

have you a wider pic of that whole side

cheers

I'll try again tomorrow Joe, but that's about it.  What does the connector look like?

The small black connector could very well be the power supply for the CDC Gary.

As Joe says though. Need a wider view.

HI

Look under that foam, it might be taped over

top plug is the fibre optic, bottom plug is wiring

the connector is only small

the fibre optic d2b is a loop, so basicically you have to extend the loop to include the multichanger

cheers

Removed the foam to find what appears to be a large connector?  Wasn't able to open it as it seems to slide somehow?  Anyway it looks as if I have what is necessary, what do folks think?

In that case, you will have problems Gary :(

I'd go as far as to say that it won't be worth the bother. Sorry mate

hi

I'm sure its the one arrow in red

it will have a link in it if there is no where for it to plug into, may also be tapped over

we need a wider picture!!!

the suspense is killing me!!!

Yep. If there's a D2B cable in situ Gary, CD Changer is certainly on :) I imagine it will have a loop terminator on the end.

Presumably, you haven't got a cradle (the black assembly in Joe's previous post?). In which case you'll probably have to insert four riv-nuts into the floor of the boot, to hold the cradle. That's easy enough though and I've got the correct tool if needed.

As Joe says, really need to see what's at the end of that grey foam.

The connector you're looking for looks like:-

It may, or may not, be connected to a terminator (loop of fibre optic cable)

Isn't the thing in Joe's picture a DVD for the satnav? In mine the CDC sits in the gap below this and I thought it connected with the below connector.

I had a quick look but cant get to it without removing the trim, but does the CDC need the D2B cable, or the one pictured?

The CDC needs a power supply lead and a D2B connection Russ.
