Just drove away from my drive and 'gearbox failure' came up on the dash display. Returned home and got car to my local Jaguar indie. Long story short, box full of water. This was due to a heat exchanger failure!

The gear box was a write off but due to my warranty direct insurance the cost, less that of the heat exchanger (not covered?), was covered.  This equated to circa £4500.00 and warranty direct were brilliant in the way the claim was handled. Hopefully this is not very common but if that warning comes on then stop, its not going to end well.

This is identical to the automatic transmission problem which is quite common on later model S-Types.

Surely Jaguar should have learned from and corrected this by 2010? The S-Type fault was known about from as early as 2004.
