Battery went flat on XK8 so removed it and had it charged. When I replaced it my two door windows only drop down the relative small ammount to protect the glass when closing but don't go up when closing. Working perfect prior to battery being removed, any ideas please

Hi George and welcome to the Club.

After the battery has been disconnected you will have to reset all your previous settings.

The windows will have to be lowered by keeping your finger on the button till the windows is fully lowered, and then waiting about 10 seconds, then raise them in the same way.  You will have to do that with all the windows.  That is what to do with the S Type.  It ought to be similar on the XK8.

Regards,

Peter.

To reset the one shot raise and lower you'll also need to close each window, release the button and then press up and hold for 3 seconds. :)

Hi

the above procedures will cure it

its because you disconnected the battery, it learns where fully open is and fully shut is, disconnecting the battery clears its memory

once you open the window and close it, then hold it on close for a few seconds, it learns where it is

then it will start working as normal

cheers
