Hi guys

The sat navigation in my car (denso) will not accept update discs. ( tried 4x different discs). As far as I am aware, the system is working ok.

Have any of you guys experienced this and does anyone know how to get around it.

If you can, try a genuine disk Martyn.

What procedure have you followed for changing the disk and what error message (if any) do you get?

Hi  Paul

I have tried three different sat nav discs (copies) from different suppliers including the 2008 disc that I had when I bought my car (even that one will not load).

The message is always the same "Not a map dvd/disc".

The only method I have tried is eject and try again, eject and try again.

I have just purchased a genuine disc albeit, second hand (waiting for it to arrive)

Remove the disk Martyn, switch the ignition off, then after a few seconds, on again and ensure the touchscreen display asks for a disk. Don't put the disk in at that point. Turn the ignition off again, wait for a few seconds and then switch on and insert a disk when asked for.

If that doesn't work, try the OEM disk when you get it. If that doesn't work the Nav / DVD unit needs replacing.

2004, if I remember correctly, was about the time some manufacturers upgraded their DVD reading hardware to double density. I'm wondering if your vehicle has a single density unit which will not be able to read a double density disc.
