Hi there I'm new to this forum I have a 2005 x-tyoe 2.0l diesel I've just replaced the intercooler/egr pipe as the old one had split but now I have no boost from my turbo. The car runs fine but seems to lack power the EML is on also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the club, John.

My son has a 2006  x type 2 litre diesel which appears to have two pipes affecting the turbo. A split one cause him to lose power.

I would check out bot of them including the connection.

Regards,

Peter.

Just a quick update on the situation I've been using the car for the last 2 days for work and the car has no power it 1st 4th and 5th gears but seems to pull ok in 2nd and 3rd. I can't hear anything from the turbo but the actuator moves freely also I've noticed that one connection from the harness to the MAF sensor has snapped off ie: no plug from harness just 4 wires with crimps and one has broken.

Hi

That should do it, I'm supprised you dont have any warning lights, you usually do for a faulty maf

Car still usually runs as it uses a default set of values, but it will be limited power

looks like it might be a previous dodgy repair, If it was me i would cut, solder and use heat shrink to repair

cheers

Hi

If you can ty-rap the repaired wire to something, like a bracket or other cables

only when repaired with solder, it can make the wire more brittle and snap again at a later date due to vibration, If its fixed to something it may stop it breaking again

cheers

Joe
