Hi all just picked up this and have the restricted performance up on screen.

Think it's camshaft position sensor before I order a new one would like to remove and clean old one as car has sat for quite a while so I've been told.

Would one of you knowledgeable people tell me where I will find it, thanks in advance phildog

Id check and recharge/replace your battery first if it's been stood a while.

Oh, and diesels are turbocharged not supercharged.

Hi battery is brand new, codes says camshaft position sensor.

I don't doubt your greater knowledge I was just going by badge on the back that says super charged I know it has twin turbos as they have just been renewed just wish I could find someone who knows where the camshaft position sensor is located been on the other site and all they will tell me is what page it is in the workshop manual and that there's a guy called gus who has one.

Hi Phil,

Badges on the back of cars are sometimes a reflection of a wish by a previous owner.  I have seen an 1196cc Triumph Herald with a GT badge!

Regards,

Peter.

Thank you Joe you are a gent have downloaded manual will proof to be very useful.

As for codes don't know exactly what they were but the garage that read them for me are first class, have had another look at what they wrote and I got it wrong it was

Crankshaft sensor low signal.

EGR insufficient flow.

They did not sort this out as they had just finished repairing a leak it was a bill I didn't need and I can sort these out myself to keep cost down. Been a plasterer for forty years just had a disc removed so off work for foreseeable future self employed so no money sitting indoors this gives me something to do. So will take off EGR, s clean and refit , check that Crankshaft sensor has good connection and or replace. Once again thank you for your help much appreciated.

Ok update Crankshaft position sensor replaced car now is clear of all codes except dpf filter blocked amber light, still running in reduced performance mode but don't think the performance is reduced going like a bat out of hell. Have a can of dpf professional cleaner, take out sensor with long hose spray whole can into cold filter wait 5 or 10 minutes then car for a bit of a thrash should blow everything out the back will report back when I have done this.

Ok dpf cleaner seems to have at least got dpf to the point where it will regenerate.

5 min job to get it in take out sensor spray whole can in refit sensor, run car for 15 mins stationary then take out for 30 mins driving it like you stole it.

Light gone from red to amber and off to Wales tomorrow 190 mile drive all motorway should regenerate in that time. Did it with sports button in and used manual shift as 2.5 thousand revs is 90 mph. And that's not legal. So all happy at the moment thanks to all who had imput appreciated.
