Jaguar S-type Reduced performance in sport mode

Hi Guys,

I have a 2006 2.7 V6 S-type, that will go into 'reduced performance' mode when I put it into sport mode and really give it the beans. It will go from 1st to 2nd but then go into the reduced mode. 

I have read loads of posts here and on other forums but none match the symptoms of mine, they all seem to have it happen more often. Before I got the car, it was happening most of the time in any driving mode, but the dealer had the EGR valves cleaned and that fixed the problem. 

Any ideas on what it could be?

The only way to know for sure is to plug in and read the fault codes

It could be one on many things

If you can get the codes then we get more information where the fault lies

most generic code readers will read engine fault codes
