Hello Everyone

i hope you are all enjoying Good Friday

Mine has started off rather badly my multi disc player has all of a sudden displayed an error message I tried to eject the cartridge with no success it was trying to eject but wouldnt

I kept trying the eject button whilst gently touching the cartridge and it popped out

I removed the discs and then put them back in the cartridge back in I watched as it loaded each disc and unloaded them one at a time then when it finished I looked at the screen and the message came back on

The cartridge would not eject but after a little coaxing I have it out

can anyone help me it has worked fine until today

Your advice would be very much appreciated

Hi

There usually quite robust and trouble free

but they do fail with age, there's a couple of ribbon cables inside, one could of fail giving you this problem

did it fail while it was playing or after you changes some of the discs

cheers

Hi Joe

Thank you for replying it actually started when I went from navigation screen to the CDC screen to select a disc

i have seen a repair service on eBay while looking at the second hand replacements so I think I will give them a go £45.00

if you know where I could get the ribbons I would try that myself first

Thank you once again

Andy

Hi

At least with the repair service you will get a guarantee

the inside mechanism floats on a damping system

just out of curiosity, have you tried a CD cleaning disc in it first, you can also get a bit of dust inside it and it can stick to the laser that reads the disc

there usually available for less than a £5, its a cd disc with fine brushes on the disc and it will clean it, maybe worth a try for a fiver

cheers

Joe
