Yes, fine if you want to pay double the price for a new battery.

Probably cheaper than having to drive to a garage that has Autologic and then the cost of correcting the central locking if you do not have a slave battery.

Yes, very true if it needs that. I've had my battery disconnected for a day on a 2009 XF though and had no problems at all.

2009 models aren't affected.  It's only those of us with X250 Facelift models that have to worry. About 2011 to 2015.

Also there are settings savers that feed a low voltage current via the OBD11 socket that may prevent the problem.  Apparently the modules only need around 3-4 volts to retain their settings.

The module normally doesn’t need replaced, just reprogrammed

There is a jag indie in paisley across from st mirrens ground (can’t remember their name) who would help and be considerably cheaper

I had this issue and it was a 10 minute fix at Pro-Tech Leeds

Went  to Pro-Tech Leeds today 31-01-2022. job done for £60 inc Vat -  10/10 Fantastic honest work

Address: 126-130 Domestic St, Holbeck, Leeds LS11 9SG  Phone: 0113 245 3893  https://pro-techautomotive.co.uk/

Had the pleasure of getting my car Jaguar XF 2013 central locking done by the team over at Pro-Tech Automotive.

Drove all the way from Liverpool and Chris and the whole team made me feel welcome, and that I was in safe hands.

They had me booked into to wait and look at my car, they got my central locking done super quick, and sorted another problem for me also, and done a great job for a great price.

These guys and girl are a great friendly team, and offer great customer service and legitimately care and offer great work for a great price.

My 2010 XF S has this problem. Intermittently. With the O/S rear passenger door.

I unlock the car in the morning and drive to work. Upon arrival, the car will not lock. I need to open the rear passenger door from the inside, then close the door, and the locking system works.

This tells me obviously that he rear lock is not unlocking with the rest of the doors. Can this be rectified or will I need a new lock?

To be honest, if its going to be pricey, I may as well continue to reach to the back door and open it whenever I get out of the car as opposed to £100s in repair costs.

Was this to replace or repair the lock?

I too had a similar problem.

My XF 2014 went in to a Jaguar main dealer for a cambelt service.

When I collected the car the locks did not work.

It took them 3 weeks to sort it and the replaced the BCM as well as all lock actuators.

All at their cost as it worked fine when it went in

My central locking works ok except from the n/s rear door. Can anyone suggest anything. Is it a module or unit that is playing up, if so, where is situated? Jag xf 2.7 2009.

Just bought xf 2009 from a local guy privately which has an intermittent unlocking issue from outside only - any ideas please

Are you sure it's a fault? I found I got the double beep quite often and thought mine was faulty, then realised that if I wait a couple of seconds before locking the car it works perfectly well every time.

The key fob for my 2014 XF stopped working properly yesterday. It locks all doors but only opens the boot and switches lights on. Spare key is the same! Any ideas for this and a fix? Ta

If the key fob and the central locking buttons on dash don’t work but the boot and fuel filler door still lock/unlock (you can hear them clicking when the fob buttons are pressed) but the doors do not and you get two delayed beeps then you need to sit in the car with the doors closed DON’T press the brake pedal and turn the ignition on and off with the start/stop button 4 times then press the unlock buttons on all fobs you want to re-sync then turn the ignition on and off again and the fobs should now work again and the mirrors will fold in when locked. Hope this helps.

I'll try that on mine. It's slightly odd on mine, I got a low battery notification on the dash and the boot wouldn't open. I changed the battery and everything worked fine, except the boot wouldn't open manually (using the button on the boot) or with the key fob, but opened with the button on the dash. Seemed to be when the car was locked.

I changed the key fob battery but the boot still won't open with the boot lid button, but now opens with the key fob. Then a couple of days later I got a low battery warning again. I changed it again yesterday and it seems OK, but now the boot won't open with the boot lid button OR with the key fob again. Always opens from the dash button though.

I'm in the US - Pittsburgh, PA - having the same issue with the central locking malfunction.  I called around until I found a shop that had the Autologic analyzer.  After I had gone to two Jag dealerships, which said it would be about $8K to fix, this guy fixed it for $271.  Wolf'e's Foreign Auto.   Thanks to everyone on the forum - you guys know more than the dealerships!  Probably not surprising to you ......Thanks so much!   Amo
