Any of you guys had cause to renew all the bushes on the rear suspension, just took delivery of complete  poly-bush set for the rear of the S type. Looking for advice as to whether this is a job that can be completed by myself, if so what specialist tools are required. On another point the bushes Adamesh have supplied don't seem to bear any resemblance to the ones depicted in the various videos I have viewed, for instance there are no metal sleeves around the new bushes, is this correct?. any and all advice gratefully received.

Hope these pictures are helpful, thought about doing the job myself but after checking with my mechanic decided against that idea and got a very reasonable quote of £ 350. This guy knows my car inside out so I trust him. He says I'll  struggle, so it's booked in for the 7th June.

Hi

They look fun, Hope they come with plenty of Lube

If you have a descent vice, they should go in

the ones with the big lip at end will be fun, use plenty of lube and they should go on

let us know if you can feel a difference once there on

cheers

I'm replacing mine next week but am fitting them into some spare arms myself. I felt the cost of the press and arms was justified as I will use the press again and, well, I've always wanted one! I've replaced lots of metal encased bushes in steel arms, axles etc. using a vice or threaded bar but I think the alloy ones need that accuracy that a hydraulic press gives. Bare poly ones on the other hand go in so easily though you can almost do some by hand.

I'm using some OE type bushes for the two outer ones as I think they're more suitable so I'd be interested to know how they work out for you.
