Hi guys,

I have an XF R-Sport (2016) and absolutely love it. I'm not 100% sure my boot lid is working as it should. This is the first time of owning a Jaguar.

When you open the boot lid with the fob, how far should it pop up? Mine only pops up 1-2cm at the most. Is it supposed to open more? Or is it how it was designed?

It also looks shut when you close it, but if you haven't closed it hard enough then it wont lock.

Is this all correct?

many thanks for your help!

Matt

Hi Matt,

Mine does the same just clicks open, always has, some say the extra weight from the spoiler doesn't help.

cheers.

Hi Matt

Just checked on my 2012 xf premium luxury it measured 3cm so yours sounds about right. Not sure if yours is the same spec but when locking you just need to hold it down gently and the electric motor pulls it down to lock.

I've got a 2014 xf 2.2 and my boot only opened 2 inches.. so I stuck 2 hexigon bolts on rear under the boot just above the springs and now it works fully open when using the key fob .. fantastic i just glued them with superglue any one need a pic let me know

The xf r sport dosnt  have the soft close electric motor like ours , you have to shut it fully like a normal  boot  ,
