Hi James,

A phone call to your local stealer will give you a price, likely as not into 3 figures!  If I'm right then the good old interweb will find you something much more wallet-friendly so I'm thinking eBay or Amazon to name but two. Once you've purchased then you can program it to your car yourself.  Simples!

Good luck, Rowley

Hi

The above procedure might only pair the remote, but definately wont program the transponder chip in the keyfob and pairing the remote does not allways work anyway, specific to certain models

A good locksmith can supply a new key and remote if required at a much cheaper price than Jaguar, the key can be cloned or programed into the car and they can pair the remote as well, most lock smith do this nowaday at competitive prices

cheers

I have e-mailed two or three car key specialists regarding a replacement / spare key and haven't heard back from one single one of them . Same as a firm i messaged for a price for a auto gearbox Oil change ...........same again , no reply . Some of these company's are either ignorant , don't want your business or both . Iv'e given up for now lol . :wallbash:

I'm looking at an Autobox fluid change as I'm on  76,000    dont mind travelling  but  want it done buy  jag autobox specialist   not really looked into it yet

key might be similar to  ford from the mondeo parts bin ???  I'll try our local auto key specialist  like merc you cant just buy a blank and code it yourself  its the ECU interface that requires  a specialist

Re  your fluid cahnge have you tried    "The  jag specialist "   sort of near lincolnshire ?  well spoken of

Never mind. I had another go and it worked perfectly this time. However I may have turned the key five times on this occasion. Now I just need to have the metal key cut to check that the transponder is also working.
