Hello Wayne

We have a '07 2.7D S-type.......my partner says that the Jaguar spec Oil is 5W-30  WS5 MDC913-B.   Both the Jag Indie Specialists that we use (for the S and our XK X150 V8) concur with that, and definitely NO additives!

That spec equates to Castrol Magnatec A5 or Shell Helix, both 5W-30.

Neither of the above are particularly cheap, but we don't think that cutting corners on such an important item is a good idea!  Same goes for the filter.

Hope that helps, as always happy growling

Opie Oils have a good reputation for selling quality and knowing their products inside out. If you tell them the code that Carole gave you they will sort you out.

Actually I'd be surprised if they didn't have an account on this forum, have a look for Opie or Oilman in the member list.

Hi Wayne,
In 2012 Jaguar changed the Oil spec from WSS-M2C-913-B to WSS-M2C-934-B (ie an ACEA C1 low ash oil) for the 2.7 Diesel with DPF.

Castrol EDGE Professional C1 5W-30
Shell Helix Diesel Ultra AF-L 5W-30
Mobil Super 3000 Formula C1 5W-30
Millers Oils XF Longlife C1 5W-30
etc etc

I've spoken about this with 2 main dealers and an indy and all have recommended a C1 low ash Oil for DPF cars. Back in the day C1 oils were scarce but now more common Jag changed their recommendations.  Apparently though some Jag documents haven't caught up with the spec change yet....!!
