Hello, I am new to this forum and I am looking for help with my 2005 X Type satnav. The car has been off the road for 18 months (I treated myself to a Bentley) and now I have fired it up again, the sat nav reads "the disk installed is not a MAP DVD". There is no disk in the player, and I have never even had a disk since I bought the car 2nd hand. Do I have to buy a disk, and if so which one? Any help with this problem will be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Welcome to the Club, Chris.

There are plenty of discs available for under £30 either on eBay or by doing a Google search.  I got an update for the last disc produced of the S type and S type  four years ago and it works fine.

Regards

Peter.

When you say there is no disk in the player, the disk is in the sat nav dvd player in the boot, remove the disk & clean, see if it now works!!

In Chris's case there is no disc in the sat nav player in his car.  Sometimes when trading in a car certain owners remove the disc  to use either in their next car or to sell on eBay,

Hello Peter, Many thanks for your help with my satnav. I have bought an up to date disc and replaced the one in the boot (which I did not realise was there). All is fine now. Once again many thanks.

Regards Chris.

Hi Chris,

Glad it is sorted out.  It is a pity they don't still produce updated discs!

Regards,

Peter.
