Electric wing mirrors.

Hi guys,

Been busy for a while so sorry for not being around. As usual a daft question to ask thanks to a young f#ckwit who can't drive and smashed my drivers wing mirror and drove off!

have removed  glass and cover but have just dismantled to fit new bits and found a damaged part internally. The mirror is all singing and all dancing but have noticed that the round plastic ring with two clips that hold the mirror is damaged and has given up the ghost whether through age or the accident. It's about 5 or so inches round with 2 flexible wings that clip into the mirror.

Please can someone advise on if this can be replaced? Can post pic if I can but I'm hoping there's a fix rather than a whole !Removed! mirror which just isn't practical.

As usual hoping for some advice on this so thanks in anticipation all.

Hi Steve.

Sorry to hear you've suffered the actions of a scrout. The clips you mentioned are part of the motor housing...... any of these in the link a help.

Hi mark,

Appreciate the link. Did some digging and it turns out a non memory will come apart and the damaged bit transferred onto mine with minimal fuss other than extending th plug in wire for the memory! Quick fix and less than a tenner! Well done that man for the point in the right direction.

As for the Pratt who hit me...it appears he's been caught on camera and admitted fault...sort of. Karma is a good thing at times...hopefully someone will do the same to him and he may learn a lesson.
