Hi (again)

Having had some difficulty with my key fob and that is the car (sometimes) opening with it...but never locking it, I have to do that manually, I figured it might be the battery, which I duly changed. Unfortunately the problem is still there...sometimes it will open on the remote, but it will never lock on the remote.

Any ideas.

OK, I have a similar problem, the key fob works sometimes, and sometimes not. I hardly ever use the spare key and I have the same issue with it. I cannot find a pattern, both now have new batteries but have the same problem. The spare key I only use when the car goes into the garage, and have done since new, so why would it need reprogramming? Very odd. Would appreciate any feedback.

Since the start of winter my F-Type key fob does not work when it is cold. I pop it into my bra and once it has warmed up it works perfectly. Any ideas why this is? No smart arses please! LOL

Don't remove the key until all fobs are programmed.

The programme has to receive five blips of the fobs before it exits. Three on one fob two on the other, or if only doing one fob then five blips on that fob.

Each blip will light or sound or both on the gear panel. Leave the key in until finished and WAIT for the programme to exit before taking the key out. Follow the instructions as previously listed to the letter.  This is for a 2004 XK8, other models have other processes.
