Afternoon Chaps. The fuel gauge on my S type does not read correctly. Yes I know I can use the range readout – which I prefer to do – but it upsets me that the fuel gauge does not work. The gauge never seems to zeroise, so every time I turn-on the ignition the gauge turns more and more clockwise.

My local garage say the problem is with the sender on the left tank (the S type having two fuel tanks) having a short-circuit. The only way to replace this sender is to replace the entire fuel pump (£500+). We have tried disconnecting the sender, but this made no difference to the gauge, but did mean that the range readout did not work L

Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi had the same problem when I had my s type turned out to be the guage. Best option was to replace the complete binical but will require compleating with sdd software.

Hope this helps tom
