Hello all,

I shall leave a detailed introduction aside as I have already posted in the new members section.

My soon to be collected (142 hours - not that I'm counting!) 2011 (MY2012) XKR has done 34,000 miles and has the speed and black packs. The advert said 'performance exhaust' which I assumed to mean the performance active exhaust option. Dealer (main dealer in fact) didn't seem to know about it being an option and I initially feared they were confusing the active exhaust they all have with the performance active exhaust option. However, a quick glance at the build list I thought said 'performance active exhaust' (I have requested a copy) and I'd swear it sounded louder than the last one I requested. Soooo

Q1) Short of getting it up on a ramp to look at the centre section how can I tell for sure?

Q2) Should the outcome of the above affect my decision whether to remove Fuse 19?

Also, somewhat randomly,:

Q3) Should I have a standard size rear number plate or the XK specific size? Really not sure what looks best...

Q4) What else should I be prioritising at this point?

I do also have a question regarding interior trim but I need to sort some photos as context before posing.

Many thanks in advance!

Q1 - The only certain way to ensure you have the performance active exhaust is to have a look underneath. I'd try using a mirror if you can't get it on a lift. As you probably already know - 1 centre box = performance active exhaust whilst 2 centre boxes = standard active exhaust.

Q2 - Pulling fuse19 only affects the rear silencer box. Personally - wouldn't bother - just select Dynamic Mode on the centre console - has the same affect on the rear silencer as pulling fuse 19. It does however invoke other Dynamic Mode options like stiffening the suspension, tightens up on throttle response etc.

Q3 - Really down to personal preference. I like the larger XKR plate. Many don't like it because it reminds them of a Rover 75 .

Q4 - Purchase a box of lemons - the only thing that will get the smile off your face after you've driven to for a while ----- good luck :yahoo:
