Denis has sourced another complete Premium Sound system for the later S-Type. If you've ever heard the Premium system you will know it beats the socks off the standard system.

He's offering it for £195 if anybody is interested and if it goes to a forum member he and I will do the complete installation free of charge, preferably in Penkridge or Wolverhampton or reasonably close. Installation, which will include modification to the fibre optic network (D2B), usually takes no more than two hours.

The sub woofer parcel shelf is black.

Anybody interested?

I'd potentially be interested but I'm a little too far away Paul. To recap though, what does the Premium Sound include?

Thanks :wink1:

Hi Paul,

I am hoping that you may be able to help me with a few challenges/opportunities.

Since acquiring my latest S Type earlier this year I have been toying with some enhancements to the sound system. My S Type is an 03 spec on a 02 plate and came with the Mini Disk (Why??) but surprisingly, no CD changer, although it does have the Nav System. I have been considering simply installing a CD Changer, which I am assuming would fit into the same chassis that houses the Nav Drive, but I have been struggling to determine whether any of the ones I have seen are fully compatible with both the car/wiring loom and Nav chassis?

I have also been considering the addition of a Blue Tooth module or an alternative head unit so that I can interface my iPhone for calls and of course music. Any views/recommendations?

In addition I may also be interested in the Premium Sound System you mentioned above if this is still available but would need to consider how the black parcel shelf would look in contrast to the tan/beige trim fitted to my car. Also, would I need new rear door cards?

Many thanks in anticipation of any advice you can provide.

BTW - I live near Ludlow so Penkridge or Wolverhampton would be a reasonable jaunt even for just a survey of what may be required.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve, you’re welcome to come over and see Denis and me :) Everything you’ve mentioned is eminently doable. Denis could source a CDC for you cheaper than any you might find elsewhere. We can usually source a Premium sound install and if you wander over you can hear my system. The later bluetooth module does an excellent job and maintains the integrity of the car’s intgrated system.

By all means PM me :)

I swapped the CD player at the front with a minidisc player,  so you could easily do it the other direction. It comes off of the nav screen

If you do I would definitely take the.minidisc player off your hands, I'd like to have a spare.

Hi Paul

Just out of curiosity, would you have any pics of the speakers in the premium sound system, shelf speaker and door speakers

are they all 6 x 9's

cheers

Hi Brent,

I had seen how simple that mod was and had considered the swap but decided against it as I want to keep the car as near to original, albeit enhanced, spec as possible. However, if I do decide to swap the head out for a more modern and comprehensive Nav/Sound system I'll put the Min Drive to one side and get in touch with you.

Cheers,

Steve
