Hi, I've got a 2005 2.7 s type diesel. I've had it a few years with no problems.   the other week I had the engine mamagement light come on and the car suffered a lose of power. I took it to an independent garage. The diagnostic code showed a fault with one of the turbos. I've had that changed. A day later the restricted performance light came on although the car drove fine. After a few minutes the warning disappeared. Yesterday the car just stopped and all the warning lights came on. I got it back to the garage. On testing it seems there is now a problem with one of the injectors.

Am I unlucky or could it be a faulty sensor causing these problems. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Phillip,

Is your battery in good condition.  The battery in an S Type has a very busy life and lasts about 5 years.

The other little things that the 2.7 diesel likes is premium fuel, and a clean fuel system which will keep the injectors in good order, and doing their Job.  An additive I use occasionally is Millers Eco Max [Diesel] which keeps the fuel system clean.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Peter.
