Hi,

I have a 2013 XF S Sportbrake and both my driver and passenger seats have stopped heating and cooling. The rest of the seats electrics all work fine.

I have checked both fuses for both seats and they are fine.

Any ideas what this could be? I think Both failed at the same time.

Thanks in advance

Dave

I've check under seats for damaged wires but can't spot anything obvious. As both seats have failed and they are on seperate fuses I'm guessing it must be something like a relay? If anyone has any ideas of things I could check that would be great!

Hi Dave,

As you've already worked out the seats are independently controlled, this makes it unlikely (but not impossible) that it's a relay.

You may wish to invest in an OBD scanner and try re-setting any faults you find as a lot of these systems, especially those controlled from the HMI are software based.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike, thanks for your advice. I have since tried using a OBD scanner and it found no errors. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi, just to give a quick up date in a case anyone else has similar issues... I took it into H.A. Fox Jaguar in Preston and they sorted out the issue. Turns out it was a burnt out pin so they carred out a repair. All working fine now. No charge as covered under my Inchcape warranty.

They also sorted a couple of other extra things too while I were there for free too. Such as realigned my steering wheel as it was slightly out.

Really good service I found. Plus they did a general health check and made a small video recording of it and emailed it me.

Hi

Generic code reader will only read the engine ecu

you need a dealer type equipment to read individual items like seat module

cheers

Hi Dave , not sure if youve still got this car but i have the same issue with the same model, im wondering if you had any further detail on which/what pin so as i can tell my dealership what to look for, they are trying to fleece me £2400 for seat elements which make no sense as what do they have to do with cooling!!

Hi,

I do still have the car, and I've since had a few other faults too but that's another story lol. They are quite a temperamental car I've come to realise!

Unfortunately I don't have any info at all on the fix or the pins. I'm sorry I can't be much help.
