Hi all, I am Burnie now living in North Yorkshire. I purchased my 06 S Type a week ago and at last own a Jaguar after first seeing the S Type in the development workshop in the engineering department at Jaguar Whitley back in 1997 (?). At the time there was a wooden block in the engine bay representing the new diesel engine, eventually to become the Ford V6 2.7Litre . I got off to a bad start with my one as after 100 miles the power steering stopped working quickly followed by low coolant level and charge warning lights. I asked for the cam belt to be changed before I bought the car and it looks like the fitter took the top bolt from the water pump out by mistake when removing the cam belt cover. The remaining two bolts sheared and the water pump fell out! Sorted out the water leak in the boot (silicone sealant applied under the boot seal and across the top of the light units), now just have the exhaust fumes in the cabin when stationary to sort out. She does look lovely in British Racing Green though.

Hi Burnie and a Belated Welcome to the Club,

Glad to hear you're a long time fan of the S Type and that you have now acquired one of your own. As you've found though they can be a little temperamental and will bowl a few googlies in your direction but with a little TLC she will start to purr for you and will be happy to growl when you want her to.

Enjoy.

Steve
