Picked up my 2007 2.7d se and it has a phone button but when I press it,it says "Phone not fitted" and then underneath it says "this system doesn't have a phone fitted"

Do some head units have the buttons but without the functionality.in my jaguar wallet there is an 'in car telephone' booklet but the 1st part of the pairing process won't start cause of the 1st screen......."Phone not fitted"

Any ideas

hi

All the s-types have the button , whether the module is fitted or not

if you search for devices in bluetooth on your phone, with the cars ignition on, if "Jaguar" comes up, then its got bluetooth, if nothing comes up then its not fitted

the book for in car telephone were generally earlier cars with a handset in the armrest, later cars did not have the handset but had bluetooth, as a option not standard

cheers

Joe

I don't have the touch screen keypad on my phone button.its not a game changer as the rest of the car is so nice so I'm not that bothered but would have been nice.i will search through my phone bluetooth tomorrow and search for the car that way

I read this in my book.the satnav has touch screen and it works as it should but no other option comes up when phone button is pressed.

Was it a separate bluetooth add on or were there 2 different head units do you know.

Would be good if it was just a plug on module that could be added to mine

I've just been looking through eBay and their are a load of bluetooth modules from s types and x types which look like they just plug into something with their connector.

If plugged onto wherever it fits would this open up my phone button menu to give me full functionality with my phone

You will need either the earlier boot mounted module, the BT module that goes under the center console arm rest pocket and the microphone,  OR an easier method is to use the later boot mounted combination module which is an altogether better bluetooth setup. If you're doing this you might want to consider Jaguar Voice as well which is linked in with the phone installation.

Let me know if you want any further details. In addition, Denis and I can provide the parts you need and will also fit and setup free of charge if you aren't too keen on doing the job yourself if you can visit our area, including modifying the D2B fibre optic network.

Sounds interesting.what sort of money would we be looking at?

Possibly £150 for the parts from Denis, You'd deal with him directly for that.

As i said, we can fit it, setup and modify the D2B network free of charge or you can always fit it yourself :)

Thanks for all the info raistlin. At £150 it doesn' sound bad at all.have you a contact for Denis to chat about getting what I need and also where are you based?

Thankyou for all your replies but I also figured that I need and aux line in to play my own tunes aswell so I might aswell buy an fm tranmitter so I can cast my music at the same time.i know they are not great but I have an ok one knocking about that' a few years old so a newer one might sort all my needs for little money and I think the bluetooth module will only utilise the phone call side of  what I need.let me know if I'm wrong.

Big thanks to raistlin for your time and effort with my question and to everyone else

Whilst sat in my car today I searched on bluetooth and not expecting anything 'jaguar popped up in my available devices.when I tried to pair to it,it didn't do anything and I used the suggested pairing codes of 0000 and 1234 but nothing happened.why would my phone see a jaguar device but not allow action to connect............any ideas

You have to pair using a specific sequence from the Phone page seen when you press the Phoe button on the touchscreen.

If, when you press the phone button you don’t get a numeric keypad type display it is likely that there is a fault with the phone module located in the boot. Seeing “Jaguar” in your phone confirms that there is a working bluetooth module below the centre console armrest.

I don't get the options to be able to start the process to pair a device but i can also see a microphone on the roof liner aswell.

I have just pulled back the right hand boot liner to reveal some electric boxes.i hoping I can attach a picture with this now

The bluetooth module, as I said, is under the centre console arm rest cubby.

The phone module is on the back of the Kaiser panel on the left side of the boot behind the Nav unit, CDC etc.
