So today i took the car for its MOT and got a failure notice... Three items - 1. DSC not available being the maim item and 2. headlight aim issue which i will sort in the morning and 3.  broken drivers front spring which admittedly i didn't see when i changed the discs/pads...was round the back!. I have a new spring for that. I had done all the bits that I thought had needed attention in the previous few weeks including a few  new bushes and rear stabiliser arms new back box etc.

I had also fitted a replacement cassette (clock spring, AKA steering angle sensor) at the weekend which removed the air bag sensor warning light. But then i got a new code C1277 which is intermittent (but sadly not at time of the MOT).  Following the MOT, had the codes read. They are as the pic below.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Do i need to get the steering angle sensor re calibrated or is there something im obviously not doing?

Clock spring requires to be 'set' so many turns out from stop. If the sensor hasn't been fitted correct then it won't give a proper reading.

For DSC error check rear wheel abs sensors for starters.

hi , yes had done that, all four wheel sensors show the speed i'm doing, the control model shows " functioning" , but all the abs valves show "inactive" , as for steering angle sensor...what should it read with wheels and steering wheel straight ahead  using scanner. ...............phil.
