Hi all, i own my loved X-Type estate! its the 2.2l 6 speed. I have been thinking of ReMapping it to stage 1, just wondering if anyone has done so? if so what was it like for you? Any draw backs or all good?

Hi James and Welcome to the Club,

Re-mapping is a fairly frequent topic and you'll find some contradictory opinions either by waiting for replies to your post or doing a search on the topic. Personally I have not given it any thought and have no opinion one way or another, except to make sure you get a fully qualified mechanic to do it.

if its a turbo diesel, its worth getting done, more power and better economy

if its a normally asperated petrol, its not worth it, next to no extra power, just smoother
