Hi Andrew and Welcome to the Club,

The Jaguar claim that transmission Oil changes are not necessary is total rubbish and you would be well advised to get the job done as soon as you can given the mileage of your car.

The job requires the replacement of the gearbox sump, which has the filter integrated into it, and all the pins needed to secure the sump to the gearbox. Kits are available on eBay and from the various specialist suppliers at around £120 but you will need to get the car in the air and level to make sure the Oil fills to the right level. An independent Jaguar mechanic will charge around £200-225 for the parts and labour.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi cublist

im lucky to have a very good friend who has been a Machanic for many many years who has a garage, he is gonna have a look at it tomorrow morning so fingers crossed labour will be cheap.

Make sure you have 21 new bolts also. You may well find it very hard to remove the old ones and may round off. New ones have a larger torx head also making it easier to remove in the future.

Great to hear. Amazing how oiling the wheels of industry makes the ride so much smoother.

Enjoy and keep on grinning.

Pete, use yoiur phone in Bluetooth discovery mode with the car's ignition switched on. If the car has Bluetooth you will see "Jaguar" on your phone.

You can retrofit Jaguar's own Bluetooth phone system quite easily of your car proves to be without.

Retrofitting the touchscreen is possible but is a real pain in the a**
