I called a local Jaguar dealership (Farnell) to book the car in for a service, my cars an O7 S type R with 60k on the clock.

The lady asked me if I would want the "engine treatment" at £29 added?. I asked what that was and she replied they put additives in the fuel and in the Oil before its changed.

I agreed, but im now having second thoughts, mainly because of what ive read online about possibly causing issues.

Im no expert obviously, but surely Jaguar would not do anything detrimental to the car.

Am I worrying too much?, anyone had this done?

Best, Sean

Hi

I dont think I'd used it in my STR, but like you say I dont think it would do any harm

my car really low mileage and the Oil comes out really clean, so would never use additives

make sure they use descent Oil, only put Castrol edge professional in mine

cheers

Joe

I agree with Joe.  Additives suited to clean a diesel engine can be useful, but a petrol engine does not really need them.

Thanks Gents, looks like the £29 will be staying in my pocket, cheers!.
