Hi Steven and Welcome to the Club,

A dumb question I know but have you checked that the folding option was indeed fitted?

Is there a specific button on the control module for the fold function?

Cheers,

Steve

Hi ms thanks To be honest I have only had car a few weeks and never got a manual with it I thought they would come with the folding mirrors

and tilt passenger mirror when in reverse but that not working and it's switched on

Hi Steven, and welcome to the Club.

Mine has the folding mirrors, but I guess the first step is to check whether yours included that option, as Cubist says.

Where abouts are you in Tyne and Wear? I am in Ryton.

You can check your build spec at Topix, just google it. Alternatively to check if you do have folding mirrors just press the left and right wing mirror buttons at the same time, they will fold in if your car supports this. I have a 2007 XKR and this is my only option, there isn’t a single button or auto fold button on the early cars. Good luck

What do you want o know mirrors move in all directions with switch says had passenger dip when in reverse but nothing and have tried holding buttons down to see if mirrors will fold in nothing having a close look think the driver's side door card has been of at some time

Sorry, i know this is a bit late,

hope you got it sorted, but if not, the settings for the mirrors is done via the info screen under vehicle settings. I've got mine set on auto fold when you lock it

This is even later than the last post.

On my 2007 XKR the mirror fold option was not available in vehicle settings, but the mirrors did fold using the two button method. Changing the option and adding it to the info screen can be done when they plug in the computer. I had an independent dealer do for me during a service.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I've a folding-mirror query....

I picked my 06 XK today! I don't think it has the power fold feature as there's nothing in the appropriate vehicle menu and the two-button press doesn't do anything. My question is.... can I manually fold the mirrors in if needed? I may have trouble getting it through my garage door otherwise! I don't want to just go ahead and force them in just in case they're not meant to fold.

Probably many more questions to come but this is my most pressing.

Thanks in advance! David

Yes you can, they are designed that way. If they haven’t been moved for some time then spray some lubricant into the swivel point and just keep wiggling them until they are in the park position

Hi David,

On one of my past cars had mirror trouble, it happened every time it was taken to the car wash. Spraying Lubricant worked for me, as Jim Suggested. Hope you sort it out.

Regards,

Julie.

Hi Guys

My XKR 2011 when I got the car on locked the wing mirror folded in.  Now for some reason, they won't fold in anymore. Checked the info screen set to fold on locking not working any thoughts

Welcome to the forum David. Try the suggestions in this thread. First, lock the car and then manually push the mirrors into the folded position, spray some lubricant into the hinge base and then unlock the car and see what happens.
