Hi Everyone,

This is a little premature as I don't collect my XF until October 6th!

But I've been enjoying reading all the posts here and absorbing the enthusiasm for the XF. I always promised myself one and it had to be a red one, so I just can't wait! Just one question (probably first of many!)...

Is there any way to add speed camera locations to the SatNav? I'm sure you'll all understand why!

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

I too am new to the XF but have previously other Jaguars, I asked a similar question when I collected my 2011 XFS Luxury a few weeks ago.

I asked my local independent if my radio could be upgraded to DAB but was told it would be a whole new head unit, the one you have in your Portfolio, so I pulled back from that idea as the benefits over cost wouldn't be in ratio.

I only say because I would suspect that if your unit can, then it would be a software upgrade as you have to top edition of the ice for that year.

Best course of action find your local or any independent and ask them bud.

John,

If your Sat Nav is the HDD version you can add speed cameral and Red Light Camera Warning by downloading them from Pocketgps.com.  Only works if you have the Sat Nav map display selected (you can select it then go back to Menu or any other screen and it will still work away in the background).   I installed them but got fed up with the constant beeping so deleted them.

I have a gamin dash cam fitted and for £16 a year have uploaded speed cameras works really well  and gives really good warnings and is very accurate but you have 2 remember to download new files every couple of months 2 keep it updated with the new cameras but very easy and quick 2 do (it was actually fitted by Halford who did a good job)

Hi John,

have you any pics of it?

My biggest problem of Dash Cams is all the wires hanging down, did Halfords hide them behind trim?

Hi Jon,

Nice car.   The engine is an uprated version of the 2.7 diesel in my s type.  I got 44.2 mpg driving to Dorset last week at mostly 70 mph and driving back with some road works delays  getting 44.5 mpg.

Grace, pace and space personified.

Enjoy!

Regards

Peter,

  • 1 month later...

Here's mine, had a couple of issues with it so far but nothing that spoiled the enjoyment of ownership.

Passenger door not opening with the central locking, number plate Bulb failure (new rear boot harness sorted it).

Kevin, my dash cam fitted by Halfords also, hides behind the mirror and the cable is fed inside the trim all the way to the fuse box, so no wire hanging down!

Sorry to crash the post but which fuse is it for the dashcam I’ve just got a nextbase 312

Thanks Chris
