Hi.

Whilst looking through the SNG Barrett catalogue at the S type braking system I noticed something that seems puzzling to me and wonder if anyone can offer an explanation?

My car is a late 3.0 petrol with the ATE braking system, 326 mm front discs ( originally I thought these were 305 on the petrol V6 cars ) and according to the part numbers the brake servo is a different one to all the other variants. I am just curious as to why this should be?

Also, as my car car has the 326mm discs does this mean it has sports suspension as I was lead to understand the two were linked as an option? The car certainly seems to have much less roll on corners than my old 2001 car and even the XF I had previously.

Despite the inevitable “ I never noticed that when I bought it” syndrome, I really like the S type, so much more character than the modern cars!

Regards Chris.
