Hi all, new to the site. Own an XFR100 and still love it. Wondering if anyone is or has experienced issues with the interior lights above rear view mirror turning on and off by themselves, and if there is a fix?

Thanks

Hi Wessley,

My 2011 XF-S has the same problem - there is another thread on here about that.

Apparently it's caused by heat. Haven't cured it yet, but it seems the way forward is to swap over to LED bulbs, which I intend to do as soon as I work out how to remove the light fittings front and rear.

Cheers,
Jon (also originally from Essex!)

Hello Chaps.

I had exactly this happening recently but only in the hottest days. I think it’s due to the ambient temperature rather than heat created by the bulbs so I doubt changing to leds will help.

Somewhere on here it was suggested that smothering the PCB in glycerine helps. I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to give it a go.

Cheers

Ian

Thanks for the replies, gents. I'll do some digging as they have their own little disco on cold evenings as well as warm days.

Think more or less everyone has had this. I've not notified it being especially related to temperature. Just sometimes it happens, then it can run for months on end with no issues and then suddenly it happens almost daily for a period. Not bothered me enough to do any serious troubleshooting.

Hi Kim,

I agree! A couple of swipes gets it sorted, but I would quite like the cooler glow of LEDs anyway! Also in the footwells, vanity mirrors. etc.

Cheers,

Had it, ignored it.

But I was also experiencing headlight bulbs blowing alternately at the time. Reverted to standard bulbs not had either issue since
