Hi all,
I'm looking at a UK 2013 XFR SC with 60k ish miles, what do I need to know?

Sounds like it'll have probably needed a water pump change and I need to keep an ear out for rattling timing chain tensioners.

Any other thoughts? Sounds like there is a wealth of experience here so hopefully I can avoid any obvious problems.

Any constructive feedback would be much appreciated!

All the best,
Barry M

Hi Barry....welcome to the Club

I would scrutinise the service history and see that everything has been maintained at the correct time/mileage intervals.

Otherwise, not sure of any issues that would lead to premature failure of components if it has been maintained and also driven correctly over its life so far.

Let us know how you get on with acquiring it and ensure that you get a good warranty with it if purchasing from a dealer.

Cheers,  Trevor

Hi Trevor

All good stuff thanks...

I'm currently just sounding out the market and getting ready for a purchase early on in the new year.

Can you recommend a good Jaguar specialist for maintenance in the North West of England UK?

I have Preston Jag Centre just down the road and they appear to have an XFR in for work at the moment.

My local garage that I use at the moment also does a lot of high end car work including for the local Jaguar dealer.

Anything else that comes to.mind would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
Barry M

Hi Barry,

I've had mine for three years and in those years have done over 40,000 miles now up to 72,000 been to Italy twice and apart from a new engine cooling fan and an air conditioning condenser replaced it hasn't missed a beat. Can't help with garages but I use a specialist who's been looking after Jaguars for years. If I replace mine I'll look at the XFRS which might be a good future investment, I wish I'd kept my E-type.

Good luck. Bob

Good luck. Bob

Hi Bob / All,

I bit the bullet last week and got this lovely lady. We're still getting acquainted but had a lovely run out on Sunday playing in the hills!

All the best
