Hi everyone, I have just purchased a Jaguar XF Sportbrake 2.2 Luxury 2015. I just love driving it but I do have some small niggles about some things. I hate the manual saying things that you might or might not have on your particular model of Jaguar. The room in the back of this car is great for my mrs buying huge bits of tat to transport back to our home !
I was interested in reading the topic about keyless entry, so I went outside & could not get any doors to open whilst having the key in my pocket, I replaced the battery & I have perfectly good car battery, so I’m baffled & I tried the spare fob, nothing works, can you shed any light on it for me ? Please

Welcome to the Club, Stephen.    I have a MY13 Portfolio and keyless entry works fine on mine.  I don't know if it is an option that had to be selected at purchase or not.  If you register here you will be able to search using the VIN number and it will list all the options and equipment fitted to your car.    https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm

On keyless entry hire cars I have had there is always a button on the door handle to be pressed. Same for locking. If no button, then probably not keyless entry.

Usually it is walk up to car, push button, open door as normal.

Try searching on you tube to see how it works.

Hi,   I have the exact same vehicle in Indigo Blue.   I can't quite make out the colour of yours - is it blue or black ?   The keyless entry should definitely work with the key in your pocket so I suggest that if you bought it from a main dealer or indy, you should take it back to them to sort out.   As with anything Jag related it might be too expensive to fix if you bought privately.  Let us know how you get on if you do get it fixed.

Ian, as Steve said if your car is fitted with Keyless Entry there will be a small black rubber button on each door handle, (you press these to lock the car once to lock and arm the alarm and twice within 5 secs to arm the deadlocks)  To gain entry you just walk up to a door and pull the handle.  If these buttons are missing the car is not fitted with Keyless entry
