i thought i would introduce myself seeing iv'e just joined 🙂

Bought a 2010 2.0l x type jag last thursday which seems really good value for the money

much more comfortable than the 2.2 diesel honda civic it's replacing

early days yet but i have a to do list for it, first thing iv'e changed are the headlamp bulbs for some Philips extreme vision thingy's which boast up to 130% brighter the standard bulbs are poor to say the least

one thing that has put a smile on my face is the price of parts compared to hondas, much cheaper for some reason

Welcome to the Club Mark.

I've had 3 X Type's in the past and they're great car's, what you have to watch is that some Mondeo parts will fit but other parts like the Suspension you are better to buy original jaguar parts because Mondeo Suspension Parts can cause your tyres to wear unevenly.

Welcome to the club, Mark.

The Type was manufactured in the Ford era, and as Tom said, some Mondeo parts will fit.  Those are usually the engine parts.  Genuine Jaguar parts can be easily obtained and contrary to some opinions are not that expensive.

My first Jaguar was an X Type [2.5 AWD] and I was very impressed with its comfort  and roadholding.

Enjoy the experience.

Regards,

Peter.
