S-type fuel flap

Can anyone tell me how to open the fuel flap on my 2.7D S-type? My previous W Reg S-type had a release mechanism in the boot as a safeguard, but my 2.7D electric operation doesn't have any safeguard (as far as I can see).

hi

should have one

right hand side of boot, most probably dropped behind the side panel

may need to remove the panel to find it

mine on there, sort of trapped between cover and round carpet cover covering the boot spring
