Hi all, I have had my first Jag, a 2016 XE diesel awd for a couple of months now and have never had as much fun driving as I have now. One thing I am not too sure about is that when joining a main road the engine can rev quite high, possibly about 1600 rpm before the auto box engages the gear, this causes a noticeable jerk. As this is not only my first Jaguar but my first auto car I don't know whether this is normal or not.  It does not do this regularly but it has happened on quite a few occasions. Is this just a normal auto box?

I think this is quite a common complaint in the XE/XF models.  I think it is down to turbo lag and can be quite scary when you put your foot down at a roundabout for example and for a second or two nothing happens and then it will lurch forward.  It's one of the things I don't like about these models.  I don't know if it applies to any of the other models such as the X or S type.
