I would like to remove and replace the two long Jaguar chrome features on the front wings of my 2011 XK they are just above the small grille on both wings. I presume they are fixed on the back, anyone had experience of removing these?

Has anyone removed and refitted the chrome front wing Jaguar part as shown in part 5 below? It is not at all clear from the parts diagram how this chrome part attaches to the base. The base is fitted to the bodywork via screws illustrated but is the rectangular shape on the left hand end of the base an adhesive pad ?? In order to remove the chrome part I need this information.

Not sure I fully understand what you are asking but I changed what is shown as 1 on your schematic on both sides of my car when I changed from body coloured to chrome and the piece is all in one and just clips on and off, I put some masking tape on the wing around the trim coming off and used a plastic trim tool to gently prise off before clipping the new one in place  I assume you have not bought the parts yet ,if you do you will see the clips on the new part which lets you know where to prise off the old one, as said sorry if I have misunderstood your request

Thanks for the reply RobXK, appreciated. I managed to get to the bottom of this but lost one chrome badges in the process. I now know that each badge (item 5 on the diagram) is locked in place with 4 plastic studs that press into holes in the bodywork and fit into small slots on the back of each badge (chromed plastic). Its not possible to see these studs on the parts diagram and even Bennets could not tell me if the new chrome badge came with studs. Removing the badge without damaging either the stud or the plastic slot on the badge is virtually impossible even with the greatest of care. I did however manage to save one badge and 4 of the 8 studs but had to buy one new badge which came with 4 new studs. The badge costs just under a whopping £90. I was having the lower side skirts and wings painted (black metallic midnight) to remove gravel rash hence the removal. The painter removed the side skirts to repaint and made a fantastic job overall, looks like new or better.
