valve train noise?

I'm new to the Jaguar family and just bought a 2012, 5.0 XF Portfolio sport. The car has 67000 miles and is in great shape. Now there is a slight tick coming from the engine bay but is more pronounced under the car. I have a hard time believing that with only 67000 miles on it that it would need any type of shim adjustment. Has anyone out there had a similar issue? I've read that the noise could be coming from the exhaust around the CAT also and would be the same type of noise.
