Welcome to the cub, Carl,

I don't have stop/start so I don't have any experience of it.   Luckily there are several members with very good electrical knowledge who will assist,

Regards,

Peter.

The Handbook says that it might not work because off weather conditions ( to cold or too warm ) or the engine has to be up to temperature.

There are certain thing's that also stop it from working like if the Heating or the Fan is on full blast, and i think you should have checked out the main 12 Volt AGM battery.

When i bought my XF in September 2019 the Stop/Start wasn't working the Ford Garage i bought it from checked the Battery and i was told that it was only showing 75% charge and it really should be 85% or over, a couple of month's later the Garage had the car overnight to charge the Battery and the next day i was told that the Stop/Start still wasn't working.

So they fitted a New Battery with a Higher Rating 95AH -850A compared to the original which was 80 AH -800 A and the System works perfectly within minutes off leaving the house.Regards

Regards Tom.
