hello all looking for my first xf

hello everyone ive hopefully come to the right place .after many years of car ownership and looking enviously at the xf ive decided i do want one .ive read they are bad ive read they are good .so has a daily drive please help the best you can regards steve

Broadly speaking the XF is an excellent vehicle.  The only downside is ,in my opinion,  if you are only doing short trips of 5-10 miles a day for instance, don't get a diesel version as the DPF ( diesel particulate filter ) will eventually need cleaning out or replacing which is quite expensive.   I add Millers DPF cleaner to my fuel every second fill and so far I have da no problems in the 2 years I have owned the car.    As an A road, motorway cruiser they are unbeatable so if you are going to be doing motorway driving as well as town driving you will be fine .  If only short trips/town driving, go for a petrol  engine.   Having said all that the XF is a quality vehicle and a joy to drive.    I get about 37mpg locally and 50 mpg on a long run from my 2.2 litre.

ill be using it for work which on average is about 60 miles a day
