Hi - I've recently purchased a 2005 S Type to fulfill a folly dream. I noticed driving it home (in February) that the heater control did not react or reflect the selected temperature. Being ever positive, I thought my local garage would resolve this with ease. Sadly, after changing the valve, the flow of hot air continues and does not to cease, even if completely turned of. Any advise how to remedy this fault would be appreciated. It's desperately not at this time of year........ Have I bought a 'cat in a bay' or dare say, a dead cat?

I have a very similar problem, mines an 06, I have changed the DCC valve as advised by others in this group but still no joy.

I called my local Jag dealership and the told me that when the valve goes 9/10 it blows the AC module too. My car doesn't have SATNAV so it is located behind the controls in the center console. If you have SATNAV it will be located behind the glove box.

hope that helps!

Welcome to the club, Margret.

I have never come across this fault [yet] .  I am not a mechanic and my toolkit is an adjustable spanner and a lump hammer.

I can only think that the temperature setting is not doing its job, or that the valve somewhere in the system is faulty.

Hopefully there will be members who know how the system works and who will assist you.

I am surprised that the garage you went to were unable to solve it.

Regards,

Peter.

hi

most of the times a bad dccv valve will take out the climate module

as said above there above the glove box

autoreserve jaguar sell used parts a reasonable price and are guaranteed and not to expensive

theres also a reset procedure for the climate control heater flaps if they get out of sync, should be able to google this

cheers

Joe
