Jaguar XE 2016

I have taken my car into my local Jaguar dealer in 5 separate occasion to have a air bag light fixed... i have little or no faith in their competence to take it a 3rd time...

I think the issue is with the connector underneath the drivers seat.. so can any tell me how I can remove the driver seat to access the connector ?

it can’t be that hard surely 😀

Hi Roger,

Drive the seat fully forwards and remove the 2 bolts in the back seat track, now drive the seat fully backwards and remove the 2 front bolts in the seat track.

Now you will be able to tip the whole seat backwards to enable disconnection of the plugs underneath, then lift the seat out of the car.

This has happened to me 3 times and if you just fiddle with wiring under drivers seat seems to fix, seems to happen now and again

when seat is moved back or forward . hope this helps

As previous post, i just fiddle with the connectors and sensors (i think it is a seat position sensor) under the drivers seat and this seems to make it go away for a few weeks. The problem is probably one of the sensors, they do appear to be a bit loose and probably move out of adjustment.

I had same problem when went to sell my XE webuyanycar was offered 1700 less due to airbag light being on

I looked under seat and a little wire had come un clipped and also pushed the connectors tight in case loose

the light didn’t come on any more and I got the extra £1700 quid
