Good Afternoon,

Whilst browsing through the S type handbook {as one does!} I came across the mention of Adaptive Cruise Control I havn't聽 got it fitted.

1/ can it still be fitted?

2/ is it any good? is it worth fitting?

I will admit I have never heard of it before it is starting to go in the realms of driver less cars馃槷

Hi Brian,

It's absence surprises me.

I have used cruise control since the year 2000 and found it very useful, although there are times when I prefer to drive the car. 聽You are unable to use cruise control when you are driving in built up areas, 聽and driving your car is safer when there is a lot of heavy traffic and you are changing lanes on busy motorways.

The Cruise control is on the right side of the steering wheel and very easy to operate.

Regards,

Peter.

Good Morning Peter,

We seem to be at cross purposes here. I have cruise control.聽 But the Adaptive Cruise control seems to be "looking at the handbook" some sort of "radar" fitted behind the front grill which

warns you if you get to close to the car in front and also maintains by engine management聽the gap between your car and the one in front , the control switch is between the petrol cap and boot release switch It also seems to be fitted some where under the right hand lights though it is hard to tell from the small diagrams. I hope this very rough decription聽has made some sort

of sense.

Good morning Brian,

I must admit that I thought that you did not have cruise control that I found curious.

My S Type has a plethora of optional extras and even after 7 years I am still coming across them and how they work.

I will start investigating Adaptive cruise control now.

Regards,聽

Peter.

According to the Norwegian importer: No.

But they didn't tell me why and I can't see why as long as you have all the pieces and the necessary software. It may be a lot of work, though.
