Hi all, I am fairly new to this having only owned by 2017 F-Pace R Sport a few days. I had to click and collect (in poor light) due to current circumstances. I inspected bodywork and inside etc but wasn’t able to look underneath until I got home. Out of interest I looked underneath yesterday and was shocked by the poor state and significant amount of rust present including on the discs. I’ll post pictures later but any advice would be gratefully received. It has only done 25,000 miles.

I would be chasing them about the brake discs as it could be a Mot failure.

I believe that the Subframes are made of Steel and will show signs off rust, and there are other area's that have steel and you could check it out with a magnet in a poly bag so as not scratch the paintwork.

Regards Tom.

Pictures 1,2,3,5, are normal i would say, i've applied Black Hamerite paint where i can.

Your brake disc doesn't look that good and i would check the thickness off the Disc if you can, because the photo seems to show quite a lip along the outer edge that's only my opinion.

When i bought my XF ,the Ford Garage replaced the Front Discs and Pads and they fitted a New Higher Rated Battery to get the Stop/Start to work, so i was very happy with them.

I would keep pushing them about the Brake Discs.

Closer pic of disc and pads. My view is a second hand approved car should not have been sent out like this.

Use wax Oil covers all parts and stops rust
