Good evening.
I have a beautiful BRG XF sport brake 2013. I absolutely love the car and it’s in superb condition. However, the alloy wheels are beginning to corrode slightly. My only criticism of the car has always been the the 17inch alloys look, well, a bit small. It’s a premium Luxury spec and I was thinking about changing them to a larger 19 inch second hand set that I have seen for sale. Doubtless the ‘new’ set would require a refresh and a good set of tyres but I am worried about things like tyre pressure monitors, sizes and, well everything really!
I am looking at some Caravela wheels which I know were fitted to some sportbrake’s. I believe that my 17’s are:

XF 2008 - 2015 X250 17 Inch Alloy Wheel Multi Spokes "LIBRA" (Picture below)

and the replacement would be:

19 inch Caravela.

is this a mad idea strewn with headaches? Please could I have  some sage advice?

many thanks,

Charles

Hi Charles

I agree the 17"s are a bit on the small side. 20" look good but are probably over the top in terms of ride. My preference is the 19" as well as on mineAETV28748317_9.thumb.jpg.1721b9e5fa661fa0eab0c9bd3ca9ce5c.jpg

I can't see any issues with the TPMS or any of the systems as circumference remains uchanged. Only possible issue is that you will have "modified" the car so technically you would need to tell the insurance company.
