I have a f pace 2.0 awd 2018,  I had no power pulling away which was dangerous coming out junctions especially, I took it to JLR IN Basingstoke who informed me that I need a new engine!! Because of lost compression!! My car has only done 59k miles I asked them to cover the costs but they won’t budge on 20% good will, I have a select warranty which cover 3k but I still have to find 7k, this is so unfair as I also have full service history too!!

I learned today that the engine on my much loved F-Pace has seized and that the replacement costs outweigh the benefit. I have had this car since new in 2016. It has done just under 140,000 miles and been regularly serviced. The only issue of note through its life has been track rod ends and earlier this year the Nox sensor which was replaced at a cost of £3,000 by the dealer (!) just before the current issue. I was driving on a dual carriageway, got a red warning light about Oil and five seconds later the engine cut out completely. The jag specialist garage tells me it is likely to be a failure of a pump and was not something I could have avoided or that could have been predicted at service. I hope the manufacturer keeps alongside forums like this. I don't think in this day and age an engine of this marque should fail so ingloriously. I feel lucky I wasnt on the outside lane of a motorway in the rain. By the way - the main dealership that changed the Nox sensor was uncontactable and didn't respond to my call and mails. Although I did just get an invite to their used event by way of reply ! I really couldn't recommend them less.

Those who raised complaints. Who can we respond to. What is the info to contact Jaguar directly. Have an F Pace with only 90,000 and they said timing chain, engine replacement. Thank you for the help

Needed to find some info out as our 66 plate F-Pace 20ltr diesel sport decided to seize on the M25 at 03.30 in the morning. No warning lights just two tapping noises and bang. Thank god for a hard shoulder to pull in to.

Bought the car 2nd hand private sale with full main dealer service history. It's only covered 85k.

Spoke to JLR and they told me to get it to the nearest main dealer. Harwoods in Brighton. They have access the car and said the engine is seized and needs a complete new engine. Quoted 12.5k inc VAT. JLR have said they would pay 30% of this, so brings it down to around 9k.

My only concern is the main dealer has said 9k approx and once they start work (if I go with them) it could end up costing a lot more. Struggling to find 9k let alone more. Spoke with a really nice bloke from SSG and he recommends the turbo being replaced at the same time as these normally break and it could cost again in six months.

I bought the car for my wife's 50th as she always wanted one. We have lost faith in what I took as a prestige car.

Not sure whether to cut my losses and sell it as a non runner and put 9k down on a Volvo or something or get it fixed.

Need advice.
