Hi Guys

I am new here & new to Jaguar, Wanted an S Type for ages but couldn't find exactly what I wanted! settled for a low miles (58,000) Diesel in the end & am not dissapointed. All good to start with, but after sitting for a week it's started to beeb three times when cranked to start. I have a citroen that chimes when starting if the battery is low. Is this the same? the battery looks like new but of course it lives in the rather plush boot! so why wouldn't eh? since its been beeping I get random Park Brake faults, cured by turning the car off, getting out, locking it & starting again! & random Drivers & passenger air bag lights (but never at the same time) Is this new battery time or have I bought an electrical Nightmare? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

I am a big S type fan, hope to get one in month or two.

I have read of a similar problem.

Intermittent problems with air bag lights appearing ,  3 beeps, not the horn sounding, quieter beeps.

The problem in that case was the battery.

He only did short trips after a good long run it cured the problem in his case.

Do you just do short journeys? was the car standing for a long tome?

Could be just low battery or need anew one possibly.

Best Rgds,

Julie.

Hi Rob,

No problem.

I see what you mean about short journeys🤣

Nice place to live though.

Julie.

I would suggest that you obtain a good quality trickle charger and hook the car up overnight on a weekly basis as your mileage is obviously limited on the isle..

Thanks Chidders

I don't know why I didn't think of that especially as I have a couple of bikes that do about 100 miles per year between them, both with optimizers to keep their batteries alive!

This old age is taking more of a toll than I thought!

Going to buy one today.
